the computer animation is also Digital Art?

here I have this in mind:

for example in the Shrek sequel we have Puss and Donkey, both are quite characters. Their behaviour in general and in ditails...

to me this is kind of Art is new or better to say un-orthodox
what kind of art it is? movie special visual effects are included?
like the Star Trek/Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, etc....

not irrelevant is the history of van Gogh, who sold only one painting during his life. (or not at all ?)

I have a question, may be not so related to this thread, not sure then where to put it.

I am more interested in the way it works, I mean there must be some feeling of a purchase when one buys stuff,...
